To: The Dog Owner, BY HAND XXX XXXX XXXX, XXXXXXXXX, London XXXX 23rd December 2002 Dear Sir, Re: Dog Nuisance I have written to you on four previous occasions (the first time over two years ago – 19th November 2000) concerning the nuisance your dog is causing through its barking, offering you to contact me regarding this. You have not responded to these. I have also provided you with a print-out containing information regarding the law on dog nuisance and the remedy suggested through the courts. If you require copies of any of these, please let me know. Your dog was barking non-stop for approximately 1½ hours (finishing at about 15:00 hrs.) I was aware that you came out to ‘talk’ to the dog shortly after it started, but you left the dog outside where it continued to bark at the corner of your house. It now being 16:13, the barking has started again. I would suggest that you seek positive help in controlling your dog. A possible contacts is: The Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) PO BOX 46, 257 Royal College Street, or Worcester, London NW1. WR8 9YS The London Borough of XXXXX (Environmental Health) also offers further advice or information. I feel that it has now reached the stage (as I previously suggested in my letter of 28th June 2001) where I have no further option but to seek remedy of the nuisance through the correct legal channels. On this basis, I would strongly urge you to seek legal advice either from a solicitor or make an appointment to see the local Citizens Advice Bureau (contact details will be in your phone directory) and I would suggest that you take copies of my correspondence with you. At the same time I shall be keeping thorough and relevant records. You should also be aware that complaints of nuisance should be declared at the sale of affected properties. If you wish to contact me over this, my contact details are as above (although I am away over the Christmas period). Unless you contact me within 21 days, you will have to take this as a final warning and I shall not contact you again as my next step will be to seek a legal remedy. Yours sincerely, Iain XXXX P.S.
